Privately Written, Washington, 1858.
The case said to have "lifted Lincoln into a Presidential candidate", these letters written by Talcott (who had retained Lincoln as his lawyer) while attending the argument before the Court, providing the funds for Lincoln's ensuing Senate candidacy
Blank sheets measuring about 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches, horizontal folds and very light browning, altogether extremely well preserved in a clear hand
